Meet Your Attorney

Yunus Muhammad is the founder and principal attorney at Yunus Muhammad PC, where he has dedicated his career to providing compassionate and quality legal representation to individuals and families across Oregon, Washington, and Virginia.

Beginnings: Yunus M. Paisner graduated from George Washington University, earning a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Political Science. He went on to earn his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon (1999). After starting out assisting criminal clients as a public defender, he opened his private personal injury practice in 2003 and has since secured numerous jury-trial wins and strong settlements for his clients.

Refocus: In 2010, Yunus accepted Islam and began focusing his skills on helping the Muslim community with their legal needs. He speaks Japanese fluently and conversational Oromo (a Horn of Africa language).

Service: From March 2022 through December 2025, Attorney Paisner came out of retirement for a 3.5-year “tour of duty” handling conflict appointments through Oregon’s Office of Public Defense Commission (OPDC) across multiple counties. He often stepped in as the “fixer” on difficult, in-custody felony cases where clients were already on their second or third lawyer. When negotiation failed, he was prepared to resolve the case the hard way—at trial. Over that period, he represented over 75 clients (many with multiple cases) and tried 10 jury trials through verdict.

Style: Over the years, Yunus has built a practice around steady judgment, clear communication, and showing up prepared when the stakes are high. Now, whether he is guiding families through estate planning or advocating for an injured client, he stays focused on practical outcomes and treating people with dignity.

Personal: Outside the office, Yunus enjoys traveling to Africa and elsewhere, camping, and fishing with his family.
