The lateral attorney should have a J.D. degree and be licensed to practice law in the state where the firm is located. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success and a demonstrated ability to grow and manage a practice. Prior experience at a law firm is required. Strong research, writing, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Providing legal representation to clients in a variety of practice areas
Managing and growing an existing book of business
Conducting legal research and analysis, and drafting and reviewing legal documents
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
Participating in business development and marketing efforts to grow the firm
Maintaining accurate client records and managing case files
Providing guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff
